Very few people will consider buying or leasing an electric vehicle if they don’t have access to a reliable EV charging point where they live. For the 30 percent or so of Americans who live in some form of multifamily housing – especially in public housing, low-income housing, college dormitories or other such properties – that charging issue can be what tips someone’s decision against getting an EV.
That’s why Solutions for Energy Efficient Logistics (SEEL), LLC and Philadelphia-based REAP Energy have joined forces to help make EV ownership more accessible to people living in apartments, condominiums, public housing, and mixed-use developments across the U.S.
Our turnkey EV infrastructure programs will assist multifamily property owners, managers and developers in offering EV charging to their residents, lowering barriers to EV adoption across the country.
Breaking Down Barriers to EV Ownership
Living in a multifamily building shouldn’t be a barrier to clean transportation. But for many, lack of access to reliable charging infrastructure, limited incentives, and a lack of guidance can make EV ownership feel out of reach.
SEEL and REAP are tackling this challenge head-on with solutions that go beyond simply installing chargers. Their new programs are designed to cover every angle of EV adoption—from consumer education and customized charging infrastructure to ongoing support and performance tracking.
“There are too many barriers to EV ownership for people who live in multifamily housing,” said Dr. E’Lois Thomas, President of SEEL. “These new programs are designed to help eliminate those barriers and bring more equity to EV access across the country.”
A Partnership with Real-World Experience
This collaboration brings together two mission-driven organizations with deep expertise in energy management and EV program development.
has At SEEL, we have been building and managing programs in the energy industry for more than 15 years. As a certified minority business enterprise and service-disabled veteran-owned company, we bring a strong track record in program design and community-based implementation.
